Peace Before The Storm

Previously on The Chronicles of Maya: Confusion is in the Air

Maya had a best friend named Pooja who she felt was a bit immature but still nice. However, Maya began to feel like Pooja was not entirely genuine as she noticed her becoming friends with another person named Zan. Maya suspected that Pooja only befriended Zan for her own benefit and didn’t care about others.

One day, Zan called Maya while driving back to Gujarat with his brother. Maya was ecstatic as it was the first time Zan had called her first, but little did she know that Zan’s elder brother was also with him. Maya didn’t inform Zan that she was going out, and Zan didn’t tell her about his brother’s presence.

On the 21st of March, Maya’s trip was postponed due to bad weather. Irritated by the delay, she decided to go to Delhi Delights, the only cafe near her house, to order some food for dinner. As she approached the counter, she was taken aback by what she saw, and her heart skipped a beat.

  1. Aye carumba, what is the storm coming, will it be from Zan’s brother? From her random friend Pooja? Cant wait to see what happens when Zan & Maya meet up!

    1. Interesting excerpt … would surely like to read the whole story – to know how Maya braved the storm.

  2. NO! Moni, it is not fair! I want more! what did Maya see in the restaurant. I hope it’s Zan! Can’t wait for the next part as usual

  3. Yes, as you get to know your friends better you also learn more about them. And you know what, it doesn’t change with age! You’d think when you’re more mature you’d know better. OK and now I’m like wanting to know so bad what happens next!

  4. I look forward to seeing what happens next. With the way things have been going in Maya’s life, it’s definitely going to be something intriguing.

  5. I just love the talent you have for setting up a scene so well with the characters and leaving at the point where the reader is wondering what is to happen next. Great way to build anticipation for how this will all turn out…

  6. What’s the future of this relationship? I read your previous entries and I know Maya has been carrying the relationship forward all by herself.

    1. I’m still eagerly waiting for the resolution here:)
Can’t wait to read so congratulations to you for hooking me up.
      You have ample writing talent.

  7. Time definitely changes everyone – because we learn new things about the world, ourselves and others! Hopefully, people change for the positive but not everyone sees other people’s change as being positive! It’s all about perspective.

  8. Seriously, she needs to purge him out of her life and move on to bigger and better things. It feels like she keeps opening old wounds.

  9. I can’t wait to see what the next installment brings. Maya’s life is so full of turmoil. I hope one day she finds exactly what she’s looking for.

  12. It sounds like there’s a twist coming!! Why didn’t Zan tell Maya that his brother was coming, too? Why didn’t Maya tell Zan that she was going out? I’ll be interested to see what happens next 🙂

  13. time changes every one either in a good way or bad. , this sentence that you have mentioned holds so true … so whom did she meet.. I was looking down to scroll and read that 🙂

  15. This is a interesting story and is very accurate in real life we have fake friends. Those people that only see what they can get out of you. I can’t wait to see more of the story.

  16. Uh oh, I sense a big battle soon between Zan and Maya for not telling each other the truth. The last paragraph is a show stopper, I wonder what Maya saw!

  17. Can’t wait to see what she saw at the restaurant … I hope it is not one of her exes. The story is getting a lil predictable now but maybe you’ll introduce a new angle in the next chapter.

  23. I wish I was more like Maya ! She seems quite level headed even though smitten with love.

  24. The Other Brain Inc

I love the suspense turn that this story is taking. I would love to know what did Maya see. Hiding things from each other can give rise to a fight maybe.
