First Strike on Maya

Previously on The Chronicles of Maya: Its All Just Wine

Maya was going through a tough time in her relationship with Zan. He was often abusive towards her, but then suddenly switch to being affectionate, leaving Maya confused and unsure of what to expect. Despite her awareness of the problems in her relationship, Maya found herself unable to leave Zan due to her strong feelings for him.

Zan, on the other hand, had become increasingly reliant on alcohol and was draining Maya’s finances to support his habit. This dependency had gotten so bad that people were threatening him for money, causing Maya’s financial situation to become even more dire.

Maya’s maternal uncle and cousin, who lived in Mumbai, began to sense that something was wrong and urged Maya to return home. Although they were not aware of the details of Maya’s struggles with Zan, they could see that she was spending money recklessly, which was out of character for her.

Maya attempted to discuss her concerns with Zan, particularly regarding his love for her and his addiction to weed, which had become more prevalent since his brother Ryan’s arrival. Ryan was an avid smoker, and Zan had started smoking weed with him despite his pre-existing liver problems, which worried Maya greatly.

Unbeknownst to Maya, her world was about to be turned upside down in the coming days.

  1. Poor Maya…. I hope she can escape! I really feel for her. As usual I’m looking forward to the next post.

  2. Very interesting. I would be interested to learn more about Maya. I feel like I’ve joined the story at a further point than I should have. I’ll have to dive back and catch up.

    1. And the chronicles of Maya are still going strong. Have you thought of writing this as a book or is there already one I don’t know about?

  3. Oh my, can someone please tell Maya to wake up and get a life already? The torture is going on for too long and she’s just wasting her life when she could experience real love elsewhere.

  4. uhoh.. I literally feel for Maya.. well courage is what she needs now to talk and fight it out .. hope your story has a beautiful twist of tale in future

I am so sad and worried for Maya. I wish that she can get out of that situation and to live a better life.

  6. I knew from the beginning that Zan was bad news, and now he’s abusive and takes drugs… Maya needs to run FAST and FAR!

  7. Maya needs to escape from Zan, I hope she can find the courage before things get any worse for her! Poor Maya.

  8. Oh, no! Things are not looking good for Maya. It’s so sad that when she finally got the man she wanted, he turned out to be something that she didn’t need.

  9. Poor Maya she really needs some help! Waiting to read what happens with Maya. .

  10. In any case, everyone should not be blinded by love. It’ll surely blind your mind as well. you can’t think wisely, it’ll affect your daily living.

  11. This situation is worse & the girl should just ran away. I know it’s easier said than done. But sticking will only worse her.

  12. It is true that abused women find it hard to leave abusive men. At times, they even protect the image of the man that they love from their family members. But none of them will get the help that they both need if they keep everyone that cares for them in the dark.

  13. This is a very interesting stage in the story. I really like how your characters seem real and easily identifiable and have flaws as it should be.

  14. It’s interesting. This scenario is happening in this society nowadays, toxic relationships and toxic environments.

  15. This is definitely not the place for Maya anymore. This relationship will only get worse and it’s not something that will do her any good.

  16. Okay, so I need to become friends with Maya to help her out of her situation. I can’t stand seeing people go through situations like this.

Geeze Zan seems to have an addiction problem and he is constantly making bad decisions that’s affecting Maya. She deserves so much better.

  18. Oh! This is terrible. I hope Maya would come out to her senses. Hope that people around her can help.

  19. Very interesting point in the story. I hope Maya gets out of it. The three guys are toxic and she should definitely move away from them and live a life that she had before she met them.

  20. Maya is going to suffer a major crisis going by how Zan is using her. So many educated women continue to be in bad relationships and never want to put their misery behind them.

  21. Your Maya tales have gotten me hooked! The last picture of the window reminded me of our Air B nB apartment in Munich, Germany. Such a apt picture for this write up!

  22. What love can do. Sometimes we were hurt by loving and blinded because of love. I hope Maya will be able to convince Zan to change but yeah, I’ll wait for the next things to come!

  23. I really feel so much for Maya. Love can be blinding and although deep down she knows that Zan needs to change his ways, she just loves him too much.

    1. I am glad that Maya plans to talk to them three hope things sort out. It wasn’t like this earlier. The twist in the end of the story is making me very curious what will happen after 3 days.

  24. I am now feeling very sorry for Maya and what she is going thru. Being in love it’s difficult to leave despite knowing it’s not meant for you and same is happening with Maya. Now I want to know what’s happens next and why is it going to be rough for Maya.

  25. Oh no! Maya, maya, maya… wake up and realize he’s using you. Go to your family, take a break. I really want things to work out for Maya and that means Zan has to go!

  26. I hope Maya decides to come home to her family. By the way, I am curious on the inspiration behind this story. Is this based on real-life?

  27. Very interesting bits of a story. I enjoy your short posts and wait for the next to come.

  28. Oh no I’m literally on the end of my seat here. Looking forward to the next instalment x
