The Beginning of the End: Part 1

On the night of March 31st, Maya’s life was turned upside down. After making out with Zan, Maya playfully told him about the bracelet that her friend Anil had gifted her.

This innocent remark enraged Zan, who yelled at her, “How dare he touch you? You are mine. Just mine.” Zan was intoxicated and in a fit of rage, he slapped Maya hard and strangled her with his bare hands. She struggled to breathe, but she did not say a word. Zan kept screaming, “HOW DARE HE TOUCH YOU? YOU ARE MINE, JUST MINE.”

After some time, when he finally let her go, Maya asked him if he loved her too. Zan pushed her away and told her that he had no intention of loving or marrying her. Maya was shattered, but she did not say anything. When Zan fell asleep, she went to the balcony to end her life. However, she remembered that her uncle was waiting for her at home, so she stayed there until morning, crying silently.

As the sun was about to rise, Zan’s brother Ryan came to the balcony and tried to kiss Maya. When she resisted, he tried to molest her. She pushed him away and ran out of the house. Maya blamed herself for everything that had happened. She felt unlovable and like a sex toy. She crumbled in the corner of her room, wondering what she had done wrong. Zan woke up the next morning, not remembering anything about the previous night. He tried to text Maya several times, but she did not respond until the evening. They chatted, and Zan thought that everything was back to normal between them. However, Maya had changed. She forgave Zan but was no longer willing to meet him.

She was tired of getting hurt and was afraid of what might happen if she continued to see him. To make matters worse, a bigger problem was on the horizon.

  1. I don’t know why Maya forgave him. All of these are signs of a really bad and toxic relationship that will only get worse. I hope Maya finds it in her to move away from all of this.

  2. Oh, man. Every time I think Maya is on her way to something better, something else pops up.

  3. May’s girl, you in danger. Please seek help from someone to help escape.

  4. This story really gets exciting. I wish Maya would come to her senses and not be blinded by love. This man is a monster. She should get away fast and ask for a restraining order against Zan from the police.

    1. Poor Maya. She’s really going through it. I hope she gets out of this soon for her own happiness.

Somehow I can relate to Maya…I truly hope she can leave and get all the helps she need in rebuilding her life!

  6. Self doubting is the worst of all…she should trust herself and try to make everything ok…though she shouldn’t hide that from Zan too…indeed eagerly waiting to know what’s going to happen further more…

  7. Maya needs to quit blaming herself. This is a Zan problem, not a Maya problem. I really hope this is just a story. I will fly to where I need to and whoop Zan’s butt for this crap he is pulling.

  8. He needs reporting to the police for hitting her! I hope Maya stays a changed woman. Im totally rooting for Maya!

  9. Oh my. Not sure I can read any more of this. This is very triggering and upsetting. I have seen, and been a part of, too many relationships like this and it is very upsetting to read another like it. Maya should have left right away, whilst he was sleeping. I cannot believe she forgave him; there is no way he forgot everything from the night before.

  10. I hope this situation will make Maya to open her eyes and realise that the relationship between her and Zan is toxic and it won’t go anywhere.

  11. What a dramatic turn and the story keeps getting better and better – I would like to know what’s happening next, hope Maya will have a new beginning – Knycx Journeying

  12. This story had taken such a serious turn! I can’t handle even thinking about physical abuse ina relationship. God what must be Maya going through!

    1. I agree with you 100%. She is already getting mental and emotional abuse, but now she is going to stay for physical. I really hope this is just a story and did not actually happen. I will need help from everyone for a plane ticket to go kick some butt.

  13. This is where women goes wrong. Accepting abuses in the name of love.
Once an abuser, always an abuser. So better to quit such toxic relationships.

  14. Seriously, what’s up with Maya. Where is her self esteem? I think love is really blind here. But I think communication is the best. Whatever happens, will happen for the best.

  15. I don’t know how much more of this story I can read. I was in an abusive relationship for 5 years and reading this brings up all those old memories and just makes me so angry. I left that relationship 10 years ago and made it my mission to stand up for women who can’t stand up for themselves. I wish I could jump through this computer screen and just rip Zan and Anil a new one. More so Zan but Anil is not helping the situation.

  16. Self Love and Self Respect – two important things that all humans, especially women (and girls) need to be taught. We see the story of Maya in various shapes and sizes all around – it is sad, and while she is broken, I believe Maya will stand up as she has finally realised the toxicity of zan.

  17. I cannot comprehend to understand why Maya is not standing up and owning up to herself. She is stuck between three idiotic men and she should just get away from them. Fine she loves Zan but that doesnt give any excuse for the toxic relationship.

  18. Excellent! Very concise and dense story. I am thoroughly enjoying the content of the book. I would like to know what’s happening next, hope Maya will have a new beginning.

    Your writing is so beautiful.
And I admit that the story is quite a trigger. I have no remorse on toxic relationships.

  20. Can I just tell you that this story is going nowhere considering the mess Maya is in right now, partly she is to be blamed for creating this mess for herself.

  21. Everytkme I expect something good to happen, there is a twist in the story. I liked the new Maya who is now being rational but what’s happening next now….. it’s getting exciting.

  22. I really want maya find true happiness. She really needs to come over with toxic relationship.

  23. If you really loved that person you can forgive no matter what have been done that’s what we called true love but this is awful for me Maya deserves better life. I hope she realized soon

  24. Ohhh snap, Maya,
You better get on a plane or something and escape to a foreign land to meet a better/kinder/caring, AND can’t forget, more sexy man…lol
A fun read, can’t wait to see what happens…

  25. Okay even as a Man, I can’t handle this much more. If Maya was my little sister or someone I cared about, I would lose my mind on her to get away from this guy or worse. Because not only is this toxic but it sounds like it is getting way out of control

  26. I am getting mad at this girl. How could she allowed herself to be abused by Zan, who never loved him but only wants sex and money from her. Wake up, Maya

  27. I’m glad Maya is putting her foot down and won’t see him…. however, I am curious to see what happens next!

  28. This really needs to stop, it is going on for two long and it is ebbing away at Maya’s mental health. Why doesn’t she go home to her uncle?

  29. If I were in Maya’s shoes, I wouldn’t have forgiven Zan. But then again, I know women who would and it pains me to think of how people actually live this daily.

  30. Maya deserves so much more! She needs someone who will not hurt her physically or emotionally. Hope she’ll have a happy ending!

  31. I’m a bit triggered that Maya tolerated these men. I’d leave Zan in a flash without looking back and as for Ryan, I’ll make sure that he gets served.

  32. I feel so sorry for Maya. This is just wrong. I do hope Zan will never do anything to her and she will be free from him. I half way want to scream to Maya to my screen ‘run and never come back!’

  33. It’s easy to say “Maya just leave him” but having been in a toxic relationship like this, you only truly see if AFTER the fact. Hopefully she has her eyes opened now!

  34. I can’t wait for Maya to come back to her senses and run away from these horrible people. This is really depressing. I am not sure if I am excited to read the next chapter.
