The Addams Family’s Wednesday: A New Look into the Iconic Character

I know I am late but hear me out.

“Wednesday Addams” is a Netflix Originals series that is based on the iconic character from Charles Addams’ comics and the 1960s TV show. The series takes a fresh and modern approach to the character, following Wednesday as she navigates her teenage years at Nevermore Academy, a mysterious boarding school where she is determined to uncover the secrets of her family’s past.

The series does a great job of capturing the dark humor and macabre tone of the original comics and TV show. Fans of the original material will appreciate the nods to the source material and the way the series stays true to the spirit of the original.

The cast is excellent, with Jenna Ortega delivering a standout performance as Wednesday. She perfectly captures the character’s wit, intelligence, and dry sense of humor, and is able to convey a range of emotions as Wednesday navigates the ups and downs of her teenage years.

The series also does a great job of creating a sense of mystery and intrigue around the Nevermore Academy. The school is full of secrets, and as Wednesday delves deeper into the school’s history and the history of her family, the audience is kept on the edge of their seats, eager to find out what will happen next.

The series also does a great job of exploring themes of family, identity, and self-discovery. Wednesday is on a journey to discover who she is and where she comes from, and as she uncovers the secrets of her family’s past, she learns important lessons about herself and her place in the world.

Some critics have pointed out that the series is a bit slow-paced in the beginning, and that it takes a while for the story to get going. This can make it difficult to get fully invested in the series at first, and some viewers may lose interest before the story really takes off.

Others have also criticized the series for feeling a bit too similar to other teen dramas and fantasy series, like “Harry Potter” or “Stranger Things.” While the series does a great job of capturing the tone and spirit of the original comics and TV show, some viewers may find it difficult to see it as a truly original series.

A few reviewers have also pointed out that the series is quite dark and gory at times, which may not be suitable for all viewers. While the series is true to the source material, some viewers may find the violence and gore to be a bit too much.

Overall, “Wednesday Addams” is a solid addition to the Netflix Originals lineup. It captures the dark humor and macabre tone of the original comics and TV show and features an excellent cast, led by Jenna Ortega as Wednesday. The series also explores themes of family, identity, and self-discovery, and creates a sense of mystery and intrigue around the Nevermore Academy. However, some viewers may find the series to be slow-paced in the beginning and too similar to other teen dramas and fantasy series.

I totally love this new Netflix Wednesday. The characters are on-point and I am hooked with the story. Not to mentioned that I love Wednesday’s costumes, which I am thinking of recreating some of her pieces. I am rooting for its Season 2!
